Professor Alkhaffaf’s private clinics are located at the Alexandra Hospital (Cheadle, South Manchester) and the Ramsay Oakland’s Hospital (Salford, West Manchester). Both private hospitals offer the highest standards of healthcare in state-of-the-art medical facilities. Prof Alkhaffaf’s NHS base is Salford Royal Hospital, part of the Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust.
The Alexandra Hospital
The Alexandra Hospital, located in South Manchester, is a state-of-the-art independent-sector specialist hospital committed to quality, professionalism and value.
The ‘Alex’ as it is affectionately known, has 140 beds with all rooms offering the privacy and comfort of en-suite facilities, satellite TV and telephone. The hospital has seven operating theatres, a two theatre endoscopy suite, an eight bed ‘day-care’ unit and a cutting-edge intensive care unit.
The hospital was established 45 years ago and is the largest private hospital outside of London. It is conveniently located and well connected to Manchester and Cheshire’s major motorway network. The Oaklands Hospital, located in Salford, North West Manchester, is an established private hospital serving Greater Manchester and Lancashire. It opened its doors over 35 years ago, and is the largest Ramsay Hospital in the regional.
The Hospital’s rooms offer the privacy and comfort of en-suite facilities, wi-fi, TV and telephone. The hospital has recently expanded and refurbished a number of its rooms which patients undergoing bariatric surgery benefit from.
The Oaklands is conveniently located and is well connected to Manchester’s major motorway network. The Hospital also has accommodation facilities for those wishing to arrive the night before surgery without additional cost.

Salford Royal Hospital (NHS)
Professor Alkhaffaf’s NHS practice is based at Salford Royal Hospital, part of the Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust. Salford Royal Hospital one of the country’s largest upper gastrointestinal and bariatric centres offering treatments for oesophageal and gastric cancer, complex hiatal hernia surgery, achalasia and bariatric surgery. The hospital serves as the designated specialised ‘Upper GI Centre’ for Greater Manchester and East Cheshire.
